VAMPIRE TAROT, Day 13 -- Nine of Garlic Flowers

Ah, sunshine at last! :) This card is a nice switch from the rather gloomy cards we've been getting lately. The Nine of Garlic Flowers corresponds to the Nine of Pentacles in the Rider-Waite which is a card all about prosperity, abundance, luxury, and reaping the rewards of your hard work. The Nine of Pentacles is one of my favourite cards in the Rider-Waite:

The woman in this card is living the good life. She holds a hawk on one gloved hand which suggests great privilege. In medieval times, hawking was a sport reserved for royalty or the very wealthy. She may not be actual royalty but the message is clear enough: she wants for nothing. Lush purple grapes are bursting off the bushes in her garden and a pile of pentacles surrounds her. The abundance suggested in this card doesn't only relate to material concerns like money and home ... it can also signify complete confidence and security in yourself, your choices, and the course of your life.

The Vampire Tarot version of this card shows radiant sunlight beaming down on a lush green field from the window of a dark room. It suggests that we are coming out of a somewhat dark period and entering a bright new phase. Even if only for a moment, this is a welcome relief from the way a lot of us have felt lately ... mired down by earthly concerns, stresses, and worries. Enjoy this bright, sunny time!
